Frequently Asked Questions about
OPERA TOURS with Iain Scott

What are the key features of “OPERA IS” tours ?

OPERA IS tours have three defining characteristics :
gourmet food, copious wine and (especially) good company.

They appeal most to people who appreciate travelling in comfort and style,
whose normal expectations are high end.

We carefully select characterful 4 or 5 star hotels,
a short walk (back) from the opera house.

We usually stay for 3 nights in each city.

Our performance tickets are always first category.

Can you describe a TYPICAL DAY ?

Our tours are designed to create a prudent balance
between curated group experiences
and ample individual time.

We are “paced for seniors”.

Most mornings,
we enjoy guided visits to galleries, museums,
and other important cultural sites.

Most afternoons are devoted to
individual pursuits, including golf, shopping and napping.

Iain typically provides a background lecture
before each performance.

He enjoys the conflicting opinions and spirited debates
in the bar after the performances.

If we travel between cities, it is by air or by luxury coach.

What about MEALS ?

Breakfasts are always included.

We also meet for one top-class group dinner or lunch each day.

What about AIR FARES ?

Since many people combine our tours
with additional family or other private visits,
or prefer to travel “on points”,
tours are “land only” with clear start and finish points.
We do not include air with our pricing.

What about INSURANCES ?

TICO (the Travel Industry Council of Ontario)
mandates that each passenger must be offered insurances
for emergency medical, trip cancellation and other risks.

If you have your own insurance or wish to be self-insured –
and therefore choose to refuse this offer –
you will be required to sign a waiver to this effect.

Anything ELSE ?

Our optimal group size is in the teens.

We strive for convivial compatibility
a group of good friends on holiday together.

All participants must be able to show evidence of being fully vaccinated.
